Phase transitions and gluodynamics in 2-colour matter at high density

Abstract: Abstract. We investigate 2-colour QCD with 2 flavours of Wilson fermion at nonzero temperature T and quark chemical potential µ, with a pion mass of 700 MeV (mπ/mρ = 0.8). From temperature scans at fixed µ we find that the critical temperature for the superfluid to normal transition depends only very weakly on µ above the onset chemical potential, while the deconfinement crossover temperature is clearly decreasing with µ. We find indications of a region of superfluid but deconfined matter at high µ and interme… Show more

“…In a series of papers [1,2,3,4] we have studied QC 2 D with 2 flavours of Wilson fermion at nonzero baryon chemical potential µ and temperature T , culminating in a tentative mapping out of the phase diagram in the (µ, T ) plane [3,4]. Here we will report on the determination of the phase transition lines [4] and present new results for the gluon propagator at nonzero µ and T .…”

“…The main activity in two-color QCD was later continued by the Swansea group (S. Hands and collaborators) for the two-flavor theory with Wilson fermions [19][20][21][22]. In a low temperature scan of the phase diagram the authors observed a hadronic phase, followed by the BCS phase with deconfinement, but did not encounter the BEC phase.…”
