Phase shifter designing base on half mode substrate integrated waveguide with reconfigurable quality

Abstract: parameters. The antenna shows peak gain of 2.36 dB and 92.81% average radiation efficiency over the entire operating band. Furthermore, radiation patterns throughout the operating band are consistent with low cross polarization level. Owing to the characteristic given above, makes this antenna suitable for modern wireless communications such as WLAN/Wi-Fi (2.4-2.

“…Due to the strong localization of the EM fields in the vicinity of resonant metallic elements, metamaterials exhibit a strong change of their EM response when a sample material is present [3]. Therefore, metamaterials have important applications in sensors [4]. Refractive index (RI) is an important physical parameter reflecting the intrinsic properties of a material.…”

“…Moreover, for broadband mm-wave applications, it is often difficult to satisfy all-metal waveguide design specifications as dimensional parameters become too small even for advanced fabrication techniques [2]. Therefore, the SIW is attractive for the extension of microwave and millimeter wave applications such as cavity filters [3], antennas [4], phase shifter [5], power dividers [6] and Diplexers [7].…”

“…In [3], phase shifter, which consists of a SIW section with two inserted metallic posts, is designed. In [4] and [5], phase shifts can be controlled digitally by burying NIP diodes within the substrate at specific positions, or placing PIN diodes on the metal material structure as a load. However, the bandwidths are limited and unsatisfactory.…”
