The nanocrystalline alkali tetraphosphates doped with Nd 3+ ions were synthesized using co-precipitation method. The structural and spectroscopic properties of ALa 1-x Nd x P 4 O 12 (A=Li, Na, K, Rb) nanocrystals were shown. The impact of the dopant concentration on the emission spectra and the kinetics of the 4 F 3/2 excited state was analyzed. The exponential decay profile for each of the Nd 3+ concentrations was discussed in terms of fast energy diffusion with reduced cross-relaxation processes. The comparison of luminescent properties for different alkali cations was presented.
