Phase Diagram of the Two-Channel Kondo Lattice

Abstract: The phase diagram of the two-channel Kondo lattice model is examined with a Quantum Monte Carlo simulation in the limit of infinite dimensions. Commensurate (and incommensurate) antiferromagnetic and superconducting states are found. The antiferromagnetic transition is very weak and continuous; whereas the superconducting transition is discontinuous to an odd-frequency channel-singlet and spin-singlet pairing state.Comment: 5 pages, LaTeX and 4 PS figures (see also cond-mat/9609146 and cond-mat/9605109

“…Although this method fails to solve the infinite dimension single channel Anderson lattice at temperatures less than the lattice Kondo-temperature T * [12], it works well in the low temperature region of the two-channel model [3,13,4]. The calculated resistivity ρ(T ) agrees well with recent Quantum-Monte-Carlo (QMC) results [8]. For lower temperatures than accessible by QMC, however, we find a decrease in ρ(T ) for decreasing T .…”

“…Mathematically speaking, the present model has the same energy levels as those in the previous model [5][6][7] where each localized spin (Kramers doublet) interacts magnetically with conduction electrons distributing in two bands. If one interchanges the orbital and spin degrees of freedom, our model is reduced to that in refs.…”

“…1) For the periodic system, on the other hand, the two-channel Kondo lattice model (2ch KLM) has been investigated in the region near the half filling of conduction electrons. 5,6) Detailed properties of the 2ch KLM remain to be clarified especially away from the half filling. In one dimension, the ground state phase diagram of the 2ch KLM has been proposed by the density matrix renormalization group.…”
