Phase-dependent gas sensitivity of MoS2 chemical sensors investigated with phase-locked MoS2

Abstract: In the present study, phase-dependent gas sensitivities of MoS 2 chemical sensors were examined. While 1T-phase MoS 2 (1T-MoS 2 ) has shown better chemical sensitivity than has 2H-phase MoS 2 (2H-MoS 2 ), the instability of the 1T phase has been hindering applications of 1T-MoS 2 as chemical sensors. Here, the chemical sensitivity of MoS 2 locked in its 1T phase by using a ZnO phase lock was investigated. To develop MoS 2 chemical sensors locked in the 1T phase, we synthesized a multi-dimensional nanomaterial … Show more

“…Some recent studies have shown that polycytosine (polyC) DNA can be stably adsorbed by MoS 2 , and importantly, the number of DNA probes absorbed can be adjusted by changing the length of the polyC. This finding indicates that the polyC DNA is a good anchor to functionalize MoS 2 . Based on this, Li et al reported a signal cyclically amplified monitoring platform for miRNA detection based on polyC MBs and MoS 2 NSs (Figure C) .…”

“…Studies on the catalytic performance of MoS 2 have mainly focused on the field of hydrodesulfurization catalysts MoS 2 (Salazar et al , 2020), which is the active center of hydrodesulfurization catalysts in the petroleum industry, and its catalytic activity mainly comes from the edge sites (Kadiev et al , 2021). In recent years, some new applications of MoS 2 in catalysis have also been developed, such as in the field of photocatalysis (Zhang et al , 2020; Lee et al , 2020) and electrocatalysis (Gaur et al , 2020).…”

“…While a weak van der Waals force exists between the layers. [ 3 ] Thus, MoS 2 can be easily peeled off by external force to form a few layered structures and has been widely used in energy, [ 4,5 ] sensor, [ 6,7 ] catalysis, [ 8 ] supercapacitor, [ 9,10 ] LIB, [ 11,12 ] electronics, [ 13 ] and so on. As anode material of LIB, Li ions insert into MoS 2 at a low voltage platform of about 0.6 V during the first discharge process forming Li x MoS 2 .…”
