Abstract:<div><div><div><p>A solvent-free transformation that enables production of polyester precursors from inedible biomass proceeds from a heterogeneous reaction mixture containing both solid and molten components. Characterization of the evolution of these component phases over the course of the reaction provides insight relevant to process design and scale-up.</p></div></div></div>
