“…Nevertheless, regarding psychotropic drugs, a recent study conducted by Trincheri et al highlighted that antipsychotic and antidepressant are associated with ED [ 13 ]. Among antipsychotics, first-generation antipsychotics like risperidone or paliperidone severely affect sexual function, due to dopamine antagonism (which can result in hyperprolactinemia), histaminergic, cholinergic, and alpha-adrenergic effects, as well as serotonin-mediated sexual demotivation [ 20 ].
