“…It was the opinion of the investigators that there was no evidence of habituation or untoward reactions coincident with long‐term therapy. Mephentermine has approximately one‐third to one‐half the potency of amphetamine or desoxyephedrine as a cerebral stimulant for chicks, cats or dogs (5). By means of determining the LD 50 in mice, it was found that mephentermine was two‐thirds as toxic as amphetamine or desoxyephedrine and three times more toxic than ephedrine (6).…”
