Abstract: Aquaculture is one of the fastest-growing food-producing sector that contributes nearly 40.1 per cent of the world's food fish. In India, 70%-75% of total aquaculture production is contributed by three Indian major carps (IMC) namely catla (Catla catla), rohu (Labeo rohita) and mrigal (Cirrhinus mrigala) (Jayasankar, 2018).
