“…The cumulative release amounts in the solution at pH 5.0, 7.0, and 9.0 reached 80.43, 57.37, and 39.66%, respectively, after 100 h, with the least amount of Teb recorded at pH 9.0. One possible reason for the faster release rate under acidic condition was that the CS layer on the surface of MSNs swelled in an acidic environment, and consequently, the mesoporous channels of the MSNs were opened. , As revealed by the above-mentioned results, Teb@MSNs@CS can be highly responsive to pH values.…”

“…Imipenem release from Imi@ZIF-8 was monitored at pH = 7.4 and pH = 6.5 to investigate the acidic pH response properties of Imi@ZIF-8. Specifically, 5 mL of Imi@ZIF-8 was packed into dialysis bags, which were then immersed in 50 mL of PBS solution at pH = 7.4 and pH = 6.5, respectively ( Zhou et al, 2022 ). The dialysate was collected at 6, 12, 18, and 24 h. The absorbance value of imipenem in the dialysate at 299 nm was measured using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer to determine the cumulative release of imipenem from the solution, and the percentage release—time curves at pH = 7.4 and pH = 6.5 were plotted.…”

“…The peak observed by FTIR at 3058 cm −1 is the unsaturated C−H stretching vibration of the benzene ring, 35 the peak at 2956 cm −1 is attributed to the stretching vibration of methylene, 36 and the peak observed at 1735 cm −1 is the stretching vibration of carbonyl. 37 The stretching vibration of the benzene ring leads to the absorption peak at 1486 cm −1 , 38,39 and the absorption peak observed at 1250 cm −1 is attributed to the stretching vibration of C−O−C.…”
