Pfitzinger Reaction

Abstract: The base‐promoted condensation between an enolizable carbonyl compound and isatinate originating from isatin to form 2‐ or 2,3‐disubstituted quinoline or cinchoninic acid derivative is generally referred to as the Pfitzinger reaction.
