“…However, direct evidence of widespread late Archaeanearly Palaeoproterozoic basement for the SCB has not been reported. The Douling, Kongling, Phan si Pan, Yudongzi and Zhongxiang complexes, which represent the oldest rocks of the Yangtze Block, are only distributed along the northern and southern Yangtze margins (Qiu & Gao, 2000;Lan et al 2001;Zhang et al 2001Zhang et al , 2010Nam et al 2003;Zheng et al 2006;Jiao et al 2009;Gao et al 2011;Wang et al 2011Wang et al , 2018Hu et al 2013;Wu et al 2014;Nie et al 2016;Hui et al 2017). In addition, most~2500 Ma zircons identified in this study show a rounded shape (Fig.…”

“…Archaean-Palaeoproterozoic crystalline basement of the Yangtze Block is sporadically exposed and is represented by the Douling Complex, which has yielded ages of~2.5 Ga (Hu et al 2013;Wu et al 2014;Nie et al 2016), the Kongling Complex, yielding ages in the ranges of 3.2-2.9 Ga, 2.7-2.4 Ga and 2.1-1.8 Ga (Gao et al 1999;Qiu & Gao, 2000;Zheng et al 2006), the Phan si Pan Complex, yielding ages in the range of 2.9-2.8 Ga (Lan et al 2001;Nam et al 2003), the Yudongzi Complex, yielding ages in the range of 2.8-2.45 Ga (Zhang et al 2001(Zhang et al , 2010Wang et al 2011;Hui et al 2017), and the Zhongxiang Complex, yielding ages in the range of 2.9-2.6 Ga (Wang et al 2013a(Wang et al ,b, 2018Zhou, G. Y. et al 2015). Thẽ 850-720 Ma plutonic complexes, termed the Panxi-Hannan Belt, extend along the western and northern margins of the Yangtze Block (Fig.…”

“…In the Yangtze Block, the Archean rocks crop out sporadically in the Kongling TTG complex, Jinshan K-feldspar granite and Douling complex, which have been dated at 3.45-2.6 Ga (Qiu et al, 2000;Jiao et al, 2009;Gao et al, 2011;Chen et al, 2013a;Guo et al, 2014), 2655 ± 9 Ma (Wang et al, 2013a), and ca. 2.5 Ga Wu et al, 2014), respectively. The zircon grains from the Douling complex are characterized by continental crust-like Hf and O isotopes, with ε Hf (T) = −4.5 to −1.1 and ␦ 18 O = 4.8-6.9‰ .…”

“…According to the tectonic position, the Tongbai HP metamorphic terrane seems to be connected with the Douling complex. However, the new study suggests that the Douling complex is a Neoarchean (~2.5 Ga) segment metamorphosed at ~820-780 Ma and intruded by numerous diorites, granodiorites and granites at ~730-700 Ma Bader et al, 2013b;Liu and Zhang, 2013;Wu et al, 2014). Although Bader et al (2013b) identified a few Triassic zircon grains from paragneisses and intrusives, we obtained two biotite 40 Ar/ 39 Ar ages from paragneisses at 814±4 and 790±4 Ma, respectively (our unpublished data), implying a very weak influence of Early Mesozoic tectono-metamorphic event on the Douling complex.…”
