Perturbed angular correlations investigations on YMnO3 multiferroic manganite

Abstract: The Perturbed Angular Correlation (PAC) technique was applied to study the yttrium local environment in YMnO 3 multiferroic manganite. The electric field gradients (EFG) at the Y site have been measured as function of temperature, covering both ferroelectric and magnetic transitions. The results were compared with point charge model (PCM) calculations. The experimental results show two different EFG distributions for all temperatures. Only one can be directly attributed to the yttrium crystalline site in the he… Show more

“…In the following manuscript we will make a review of the use of radioactive isotopes as local probes for solid state physics, and nanotechnology studies, with a particular emphasis on hyperfine interactions, where CICECO team has promoted and participated within the international collaboration at ISOLDE (Isotope mass Separator On‐Line facility) in CERN, a laboratory dedicated to the production of radioactive isotopes…”
