Understanding on fish diversity is essential for fish stock conservation specifically in Tambelan Keywords: demersal, abundance, diversity, equitability, Tambelan ABSTRAKPemahaman mengenai keragaman ikan penting bagi upaya konservasi stok ikan khususnya di perairan pulau Tambelan yang memiliki keragaman ikan yang tinggi. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Novermber 2010 di 6 lokasi pengambilan contoh sekitar pulau Tambelan. Sampel diambil dengan menggunakan alat tangkap trawl dasar yang dioperasikan dengan teknik penyapuan. Data yang akan kumpulkan yaitu jenis ikan, jumlah, panjang total (TL), dan berat total (TW). Analisis data mencakup kepadatan stok, kekayaan jenis, keseragaman jenis, dan kemiripan jenis antara lokasi sampling. Jumlah ikan yang diperoleh sebanyak 1.224 individu, yang terdiri dari 105 spesies dan 44 famili. Berat total sampel 55,3 kg, dengan kepadatan stok rata-rata sebesar 0,27 kg/jam. Komposisi ikan tangkap yaitu famili Apogonidae 11,4%, famili Mulliidae 35,7%, famili Nemipteridae 16,3% dan Lutjanidae 7,7%. Nilai indek kekayaan ikan antara 1,862 -3,121, indeks keseragaman antara 0,329 -0,576. Similaritas stasiun 3 dan 6 pada level pada 33,89%, stasiun 1, 4, dan 5 pada 20,31%, dan stasiun 4 dan 5 pada 45,30% dari nilai maksimum 100%.

This report provides an insight into the cost of degradation of the marine environment of the Dutch part of the North Sea by calculating the annual current (2015) costs of measures that avoid or minimise degradation. In addition to this, insight is provided into the potential applicability of the ecosystem services approach to calculate ecosystem benefits gained when Good Environmental Status is reached, in comparison to a Business as Usual scenario. The total costs of measures that avoid degradation of the Dutch North Sea environment have been calculated to be at least €0.5bn per year, with a maximum estimate of €1.6bn per year. In terms of the applicability of the ecosystem services approach concept, it is concluded that the methodology and empirical application are not mature enough yet to be applied within the context of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive. The user may reproduce, distribute and share this work and make derivative works from it. Traditionally, most irrigation practices in Southern Europe have been based on gravity-fed surface irrigation systems. Currently, these systems remain a relevant typology in the European Union (EU) member states of the Mediterranean areas, where it is often the only sustainable method for farmers due to the small size of agricultural holdings, their reduced capacity and readiness to invest and the low ratio between yield profits and irrigation costs. In the last several years, in response to European and national directives, surface irrigation has garnered increasing attention at the political and bureaucratic levels due to frequent criticisms of its postulated low efficiency and high water wastage. However, these systems commonly provide a number of ecosystem services and nature-based solutions that increase the positive externalities in different rural socio-ecological contexts and often have the potential to extend these services and provide solutions that are compatible with economical sustainability. This study aims to discuss the prospects for new practices and for the rehabilitation and modernization of the gravity-fed surface irrigation systems in EU Mediterranean areas to enhance water efficiency, thus gaining both economic advantages and environmental benefits. The difficulties, stimuli for improvements and peculiarities of the irrigation water management of four rural environments located in Italy, Spain and Portugal were analyzed and compared to the current state of the gravity-fed surface irrigation systems with hypothetical future improvements achievable by innovative technologies and practices. In these different case studies, the current gravity-fed surface irrigation systems have an obsolete regulatory structure; water-use efficiency is not a driving criterion for the management of the conveyance and distribution canal network, and farmers are not yet adequately encouraged to adopt more efficient gravity-fed irrigation practices. A continuous knowledge exchange is thus necessary for the interaction of all irrigation water managers and farmers to improve their eco-efficiency and to preserve and promote their cultural heritage across the entire water supply and delivery chains. We argue that the best way forward will require precisely targeted rehabilitation measures of gravity-fed surface irrigation systems based on the integrated use of decision support services, gate automation, remote and feedback controls and real-time flow optimization.
