Perspectives of Photonics Technology to Diagnosis COVID–19 Viruses: A Short Review

Abstract: The COVID-19 disease outbreak has emphasized the critical need for more sensitive analytical technology. Photonic technology focuses on studying light interaction analysis with the molecules to enhance diagnostic tools' accuracy. Due to the distinct spectral signatures, lasers have shown effectiveness in the classification and monitoring of viruses. This work aims to improve healthcare delivery in public areas, markets, hospitals, and airports. However, providing insights into the technical aspect also helping… Show more

“…The quantification of DNA measured by Quantus™ Fluorometer was (1-50) ng/µl and the purity ranged was (1.6-1.8). The result demonstrated that the purity of extracted DNA in the total samples was sufficiently high for PCR analysis as shown in Figure (2) in light fluorescents color.…”

“…The amount of data collected in the form of databases and computer processing capability has been increasing at an exponential rate, which explains why bioinformatics has progressed quickly in the scientific area. The data of COVID19 which is new and dangers to collected, now are available in bioinformatics tools and can be collected for COVID19 monitoring through an intelligent network of medical biosensors, thereby improving healthcare quality [2]. Bioinformatics consists of statistics control, analysis, and modelling over all domain names [3].…”

“…Our review selected, evaluated, and analyzed (22) empirical research on optical sensors based on tapered optic fiber, as shown in Table 1. We extract relevant literature from academic databases, such as Science Direct, which provides diverse scientific research across all fields; Scopus, which provides extensive coverage of work from all disciplines; Web of Science, which demonstrates a comprehensive range of various topics in all literature; IEEE, which is recognized as scientifically accurate and pro-science.…”

“…The employment of lasers with optical fiber enables accurate and sensitive detection compared with other techniques. This method has the advantage of notable features such as interference resistance, adaptability, real-time parameter monitoring, and small size [19][20][21][22][23]. Many optical fiber structures use lasers such as FBG, fiber-optic interferometer, optical fiber MZI, buffer structure, Fabry-Perot, directional couplers, and optical fiber waveguides to a biosensor [24][25][26][27][28].…”

“…Random lasers have been used in numerous applications such as uid crystals [10,11], polymer materials [12], [13], human tissues [14], bone tissues [3] and bres [15]. In addition to fewer predicted spectroscopy, a speck-free projection, and a wide range of holographic laser diagnosis are presented [16][17][18][19]. Random machines also ushered in an entirely new age of technical innovation.…”
