Nanotechnology is still developing over the decades and it is commonly used in biomedical applications with the design of nanomaterials due to the several purposes. With the investigation of materials on the molecular level has increased the develop composite nanomaterials with exceptional properties using in different applications and industries. The application of these composite nanomaterials is widely used in the fields of textile, chemical, energy, defense industry, electronics, and biomedical engineering which is growing and developing on human health. Development of biosensors for the diagnosis of diseases, drug targeting and controlled release applications, medical implants and imaging techniques are the research topics of nanobiotechnology. In this review, overview of the development of nanotechnology and applications which is use of composite nanomaterials in biomedical engineering is provided.

Carbonaceous nanomaterials (CNMs) have drawn tremendous biomedical research interest because of their unique structural features. Recently, CNMs, namely carbon dots, fullerenes, graphene, etc, have been successful in establishing them as considerable nanotherapeutics for phototherapy applications due to their electrical, thermal, and surface properties. This review aims to crosstalk the current understanding of CNMs as multimodal compounds in photothermal and photodynamic therapies as an integrated approach to treating cancer. It also expounds on phototherapy’s biomechanics and illustrates its relation to cancer biomodulation. Critical considerations related to the structural properties, fabrication approaches, surface functionalization strategies, and biosafety profiles of CNMs have been explained. This article provides an overview of the most recent developments in the study of CNMs used in phototherapy, emphasizing their usage as nanocarriers. To conquer the current challenges of CNMs, we can raise the standard of cancer therapy for patients. The review will be of interest to the researchers working in the area of photothermal and photodynamic therapies and aiming to explore CNMs and their conjugates in cancer therapy.

Optoelectronics and photocatalysis are two rapidly developing photonic fields that are revolutionizing green energy, medicine, communications, and robotics. To advance these areas and explore new applications, there is a need for new materials and technologies that enable fast, scalable, and customizable production of high‐performing optoelectronics, including the future development of flexible devices. This review is focused on the strategies to synthesize novel, not fully explored materials and/or enhance their properties using the powerful method of laser processing. The discussion includes the laser treatment of MXenes, Metal‐Organic Frameworks, and perovskites, materials' advantages in terms of structural, electronic, and optical properties, and the role of different laser‐based techniques in boosting their performance. Additionally, there is a demonstration of the existing and potential applications of these three materials and their combinations, especially in optoelectronics and photocatalytic platforms. This review aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the current state‐of‐the‐art in this field to help researchers identify opportunities and challenges in laser processing of emerging nanomaterials for optoelectronics and photocatalysis.
