“…This suggests that there is a strong, significant relationship between impulsivity and AN, in the sense that adolescents with AN tend to be more impulsive than healthy controls. This is consistent with previous research finding impulsivity to be a prominent trait in those with EDs (e.g., Legg and Turner, 2019). There was significant heterogeneity (Q=8.18, p=0.01), with an I 2 index of 72.55%.…”

“…Taken together, Legg and Turner's (2019) findings support the notion that personality traits related to mood (neuroticism and emotionality), as well as impulsivity (impulsivitysensation seeking and behavioral disinhibition), are especially prominent in adolescents suffering from disordered eating, and can even distinguish those with weight concerns from adolescents without. It also suggests that personality may serve as a useful indicator of ED severity, as associated personality traits were most pronounced in those with clinical ED's.…”

“…Data from these surveys continue to be widely used. For instance, the NCS-R has been used in recent studies (Chasson et al, 2022; Legg and Turner, 2021; Mueller et al, 2022; Stickley et al, 2021), including those featuring anxiety disorders (Hazzard et al, 2022; Stapp et al, 2022). Similarly, the NSAL also continues to be used in contemporary research (Nicholson Jr and Wheeler, 2021; Sullivan et al, 2021; Whaley, 2021), including studies incorporating anxiety disorders (Jones et al, 2020; Oh et al, 2021a; Oh et al, 2021b) psychotic experiences (Oh and Anglin, 2021), and depression (Robinson et al, 2022).…”
