Among cluster analytic studies of the personality profiles associated with bulimia nervosa, a group of individuals characterized by emotional lability and behavioral dysregulation (i.e., a dysregulated cluster) has emerged most consistently. However, previous studies have all been cross-sectional and mostly used clinical samples. This study aimed to replicate associations between the dysregulated personality cluster and bulimic symptoms and related characteristics using a longitudinal, population-based sample. Participants were females assessed at ages 17 and 25 from the Minnesota Twin Family Study, clustered based on their personality traits. The Dysregulated cluster was successfully identified at both time points and was more stable across time than either the Resilient or Sensation Seeking clusters. Rates of bulimic symptoms and related behaviors (e.g., alcohol use problems) were also highest in the dysregulated group. Findings suggest that the dysregulated cluster is a relatively stable and robust profile that is associated with bulimic symptoms.

Elméleti háttér: Az evészavarok kialakulásában, fennmaradásában és gyógyulásában számos biológiai, pszichológiai és szociokulturális tényező játszik szerepet. Ezek egyike a személyi-ség, melynek szerepét több korábbi tanulmány is megerősítette. Cél: Az evészavartüneteknek és az evési attitűdöknek a személyiségjegyekkel való kapcsolatának vizsgálata középisko-lások körében. Módszerek: Az evési attitűdök és az evészavartünetek vizsgálatá ra az Evési Attitűdök Tesztje (EAT), az Evészavartünetek Súlyossági Skálája (EBSS), a Testi Elége dett ség Kérdőív (BSQ) módosított változata és az Emberalakrajzok Tesztjének junior változata szolgált, míg a személyiség vizsgálatára a Cloninger-féle Temperamentum és Karakter Kérdőív Junior (JTCI) változata került felhasználásra. Eredmények: A kérdőíveket 7-12. osztályos (12-19 éves) tanulók (az életkor átlaga: 15,7 ± 1,6) töltötték ki, önként és név nélkül (n = 741, 311 fiú, 430 lány). A lányoknál az újdonságkeresés és az ártalomkerülés dimenziója pozitív korrelációt mutat az EAT két alskálájával (újdonságkeresés és diétázás: r = 0,13, p = 0,012; ártalomkerülés és diétázás: r = 0,11, p = 0,036; újdonságkeresés és bulimia: r = 0,14, p = 0,004; ártalomkerülés és bulimia: r = 0,14, p = 0,006) és az EAT összpontszámával (újdonságkeresés és EAT-összpontszám: r = 0,13, p = 0,011; ártalomkerülés és EAT-összpontszám: r = 0,13, p = 0,008). A falásrohamok is pozitívan korreláltak a JTCI újdonságkeresést és ártalomkerülést mérő faktorával. Az önirányítottság és együttműködés alskála értéke viszont negatív korrelációban van az EAT fenti alskáláival és az összpontszámmal (önirányítottság és diétázás: r = -0,21, p < 0,001; önirányítottság és bulimia: r = -0,26, p < 0,001; önirányítottság és EAT-össz-pontszám: r = -0,18, p < 0,001, illetve együttműködés és diétázás: r = -0,11, p = 0,035; együtt-működés és bulimia: r = -0,12, p = 0,022; együttműködés és EAT-összpontszám: r = -0,10, p = 0,06), továbbá a falásrohamokkal (önirányítottság és falásroham-gyakoriság: r = -0,24, p < 0,001; együttműködés és falásroham-gyakoriság: r = -0,09, p = 0,07). Az evészavarral és az evészavartünetekkel rendelkező csoport szignifikánsan különbözött a tünetmentesek csoportjától a JTCI faktoraiban mindkét nemnél. Következtetések: A kóros evési attitűdök magasabb újdonságkereséssel és ártalomkerüléssel, alacsonyabb önirányítottsággal és együtt-működéssel járnak együtt. A magas újdonságkeresés kapcsolatban áll a falásrohamokkal és a diétázással, a magas ártalomkerüléssel rendelkezők elégedetlenebbek a testükkel. A magas önirányítottságot mutatóknál nincsenek patológiás evési attitűdök, és ők elégedettebbek a testükkel. Az eredmények hasznosak lehetnek abban, hogy hatékonyabb prevenciós és kezelési módszereket alkalmazzunk az evészavarokkal kapcsolatban.

Studies show that family relationships can act as mediating agents in triggering and maintaining the symptoms of anorexia nervosa (AN), especially the mother-daughter relationship configuration, which contains unconscious elements transmitted inter-generationally. This study aimed to understand the role of intergenerational psychic transmission in the articulation of anorexic symptoms in a young woman in treatment. Three generations of women of the same family were interviewed: maternal grandmother, mother and daughter, all diagnosed with AN. Some psychic contents that could not be elaborated were identified in the reports and these were, subsequently, converted into legacies transmitted to later generations. Feelings of inhibition and shame regarding sexuality and the female body, transmitted from grandmother to mother and from mother to granddaughter, seem to have blocked the emotional development in all generations. Incorporating these findings into treatment may facilitate the processing of the transmitted unconscious contents, contributing to the reorganization of the family's psychodynamic functioning. Este estudo teve por objetivo compreender a implicação da transmissão psíquica transgeracional na articulação do sintoma anoréxico em uma jovem em tratamento. Foram entrevistadas mulheres de três gerações de uma mesma família: avó materna, mãe e filha (com diagnóstico de AN). Foram identificados nos relatos conteúdos psíquicos que não puderam ser elaborados e que, posteriormente, converteram-se em legados transmitidos para as gerações posteriores. Sentimentos de inibição e vergonha em relação à sexualidade e ao corpo feminino, transmitidos da avó para a mãe e desta para a neta, parecem bloquear o desenvolvimento afetivo nas gerações posteriores. Incorporar esses achados ao tratamento da neta pode facilitar a elaboração dos conteúdos inconscientes transmitidos, contribuindo para reorganização do funcionamento psicodinâmico familiar.
