“…In addition to BP, various other DPP-4 inhibitor-associated dermatoses have been described in the literature, including psoriasiform dermatitis, maculopapular rash, photodermatitis, eczematous rash, lichen planus, and even alopecia areata and mucositis. [5][6][7][8][9][10][11] Since the first case report in 2011 of DPP-4 inhibitorassociated BP, various publications have implicated DPP-4 inhibitors in the pathogenesis of BP. 12 DPP-4 inhibitors have been associated with a 3.2-fold increase in risk of developing BP, with vildagliptin and linagliptin being the most common inducing agents.…”

“…The literature on other DPP-4 inhibitor-associated cutaneous AEs remain limited to various case reports. [5][6][7][8][9][10][11] Lichen planus pemphigoides has been reported as an AE in a patient on vildagliptin, 18 while sitagliptin has been reported to cause lichen planus and psoriasiform dermatitis. 5,9 In our study, lichenoid dermatitis represented a significant portion (22.2%) of the cutaneous AEs noted, and this finding warrants further investigation.…”

“…Pemphigoid reactions are seen to occur most frequently, with 76 of the cases attributed to this adverse event [14]. Cutaneous reactions discussed in the literature fall into the subcategories of immunologic CADRs exanthematous (generalized skin eruption [57], maculopapular eruption [58], and DRESS syndrome [59]), blistering (pemphigoids [60][61][62][63][64][65][66][67], SJS [68], TEN [68], fixed drug eruption [69]), hypersensitivity vasculitis [68], and photosensitivity [70]…”
