Peroxidase-Mimicking DNAzymes as Receptors for Label-Free Discriminating Heavy Metal Ions by Chemiluminescence Sensor Arrays

Abstract: Receptors are crucial to the analytical performance of sensor arrays. Different from the previous receptors in sensor arrays, herein, peroxidase-mimicking DNAzymes were innovatively used as receptors to develop a label-free chemiluminescence sensor array for discriminating various heavy metal ions in complex samples. The peroxidase-mimicking DNAzymes are composed of functional oligonucleotides and hemin, including G-triplex-hemin DNAzyme (G3-DNAzyme), G-quadruplex-hemin DNAzyme (G4-DNAzyme), and the dimer of G… Show more

“…The triple-emitting MOF was prepared by incorporating Eu 3+ and HCAA into the framework of a UiO-66-type MOF with free carboxylic acids (i.e., UiO-66 (10)). UiO-66 (10) was synthesized by replacing the usual ligand of UiO-66 (i.e., terephthalic acid, TPA) by trace amount of isophthalic acid (IPA, 10%), using the solvothermal method with a slight modification to the literature. 32,33 Next, Eu 3+ was loaded into UiO-66(10) via a coordination reaction, and the resulted material was denoted as Eu 3+ @UiO-66 (10).…”

“…Combined with the mathematics analysis technique, such as a principal component analysis (PCA), linear discriminant analysis, and hierarchical clustering analysis (HCA), , the characteristic fingerprints can be transformed into simple visualization modes, enabling discrimination among different target analytes. Thus, many sensor arrays have been developed to detect and differentiate a wide range of analytes, including ions, proteins, DNA, and even small molecules with a similar structure or chemical characteristics . Though widely used for the recognition of various target analytes, there is still no report on sensor arrays for the detection and identification of His and its metabolites.…”
