Permanent bleaching of F₂ color centers in lithium fluoride under UV light illumination

Abstract

PACS 61.72. Ji, 78.20.Ci, 78.55.Fv Permanent bleaching of F and F 2 color centers in gamma irradiated lithium fluoride crystals has been obtained under low power, CW laser illumination at 244 nm. Optical absorption and photoluminescence measurements reveal a selective change in the concentrations of these kinds of electronic defects.
