Peripheral quantitative computed tomography (pQCT) reveals low bone mineral density in adolescents with motor difficulties

Abstract: Motor difficulties in adolescence should be considered a risk factor for below-average bone strength and structure and fracture risk. Strategies are needed to improve bone health in this high-risk-group.

“…The AMPitup Program is an exercise intervention program for adolescents with a movement disorder (21), being conducted at the University of Notre Dame Australia, and is reported as the AMPitup dataset in the present paper. The initial bone results of the program have been published previously (12).
