Peripheral ossifying fibroma- A case report with brief review

Abstract: Peripheral ossifying fibroma (POF) is an inflammatory reactive hyperplasia of gingiva. It occurs frequently in anterior maxilla with a higher predilection for females. It presents as sessile mucosal nodule and more common in second decade of life. It has been suggested as a separate clinical entity rather than a transitional form of pyogenic granuloma.
