“…Increased peripheral blood flow during pregnancy is probably mainly due to skin flow (Jansson 1969;Spetz 1964). Since skin constitutes a larger portion of the total volume of the finger and forearm than of the thigh and calf, the influence of changes in skin flow during pregnancy may, therefore, be mainly manifested in the upper limb.…”
