Perioperative care of the cocaine-dependent neurosurgical patient

Abstract: Purpose: Cocaine, a commonly abused drug, can cause life-threatening complications, significantly impacting patient management. Cocaine is associated with an increased risk of stroke including subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) that may require expectant surgical management.
