Performance rating of the transmuted exponential distribution: an analytical approach

Abstract: In this article, the so called Transmuted Exponential (TE) distribution was applied to two real life datasets to assess its potential flexibility over some other generalized models. Various statistical properties of the TE distribution were also identified while the method of maximum likelihood estimation was used to estimate the model parameters.

“…The result is an affirmation to the fact that the method quadratic rank transmutation map for adding a single or transmuted parameter has increased the flexibility of the power Gompertz distribution. Hence, this study is in line with the conclusions in [33,36,37,38,39,40,49,50,51].…”

“…Then, it is proved that the additional parameter θ can significantly increase the flexibility of the former exponential distribution, demonstrating a superiority in terms of fit in comparison to the former exponential distribution. We may refer the reader to [16], and the references therein.…”
