Performance optimization for a class of generalized stochastic Petri nets

Abstract: Abstract-This paper considers the problem of optimizing the (long-term) performance of operations that are modeled by Generalized Stochastic Petri nets. The proposed methodology employs the representational power of the GSPN framework in order to articulate an explicit trade-off between the computational tractability of the formulated problem and the operational efficiency of the derived solutions. On the other hand, the solution of the considered formulations is based on recent results regarding the sensitivi… Show more

“…Soft-computing is proposed by Zadeh, founder of Fuzzy Set Theory in 1994, whose guiding principle is to develop tolerance techniques for uncertainty, imprecision and incomplete authenticity to obtain easy processing, high robustness, Low cost and good integration of the actual method (Li, 2015). Soft computing is for hard computing, the traditional computing (hard computing) is the main features of strict, accurate and accurate.…”

“…This integrative modeling capability that is supported by DES theory also enables a profound analysis of the impact of the imposed behavioralcontrol policies upon the system performance and, thus, the pursuance of a more integrative approach to the synthesis of the behavioral and the performance-oriented control policies that are necessary for any particular DES instantiation. This is a rather novel topic in the relevant DES literature, and some recent works in this direction can be found in Cao (2005), Li and Reveliotis (2013), Markovski andSu (2013), andDavid-Henriet et al (2013)…”

“…Things are complicated, however, by the explosive size of the underlying state space. In fact, this state space explosion implies that the sought scheduling policies are not only hard to compute, but they also have a very high Figure 2: A schematic outline of the RAS scheduling methodology that is presented in this article, based on the developments of [49,48].…”
