Performance of SVM algorithm implemented on fixed point ADSP-BF527

Abstract: With the availability of low cost high performance DSP chips characterized by the execution of most instructions in one instruction cycle, complicated control algorithms can be executed with fast speed, making very high sampling rate possible for digitally-controlled inverters. Control methods, which generate the necessary pulse space vector modulation (SVM) have been discussed extensively in literature. These could be classified as voltage controlled and current controlled SVM. All these methods aim at genera… Show more

“…The DC bus voltage is fixed at 40V. We fix the number of pulses per period to 20 pulses (equivalent to 1200Hz) [6]. This is not a high commutation frequency, but this small value permits a better visualization of the resulting SVM signals over a complete cycle.…”

“…In [6], we described an algorithm where three timers of the DSP are used to generate 3 phase SVM signals. In the actual paper we present a three-phase SVM voltage source inverter drive witch has the ability to employ many kinds of modulation techniques.…”
