Performance of Salt-Stressed Tomato Crop as Affected by Nano-Caco3, Glycine Betaine, MKP Fertilizer and Aspirin Application

Abstract: Salinity problem is a major abiotic stress affecting tomato growth. In Lebanon, the problem is rising in coastal zone and Northern (Baalback-Hermel belt) areas. The current work aimed to study the effect of Monopotassiumphosphate (MKP), Lithovit® (LITHO) (nano-CaCO 3 ), Glycine betaine (GB) and Aspirin (ASP) applied each in three concentrations (Low, Med and High) on tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) subjected to five salinity levels (EC=2,4,6,8 and 10 dS/m). Control treatments were those subjected to the five … Show more

“…The different nitrate levels in this experiment showed significant inhibition of spinach growth and reduced leaf length, width, and area compared to the control. Salt stress has a significant inhibitory effect on the biomass of wheat seedlings [38] and tomatoes [39]. Gou et al [40] showed that nitrate stress significantly reduced the fresh and dry weights of cucumber seedlings.…”
