Performance of MIMO MC-CDMA system with channel estimation equalization and relay

Abstract: This paper analyzes the bit error rate (BER) performance of cooperative communication using relays which is capable of efficiently combating wireless impairments and hence will extend the coverage. With the requirement of higher data rate, the distortion of the received signal caused by multipath fading channel becomes a major problem. The relay assisted multiple input and multiple output (MIMO) Multi carrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) system can tackle the problem and provide higher data rate for… Show more

“…Minimum Mean Square Error Equalizer, as it name defines, minimizes the mean square error (MSE). This minimizes the total power of the noise and also the ISI components present in the output [10]. Hence it works well in not only eliminating the interference but also the also components too.…”

“…The signals that are received by the receiver suffer from Inter Symbol Interference (ISI) and Inter Carrier Interference (ICI). The equalizer is introduced at the receiver side in order to compensate for the Inter Symbol Interference in order to increase the signal to noise ratio and to reduce the bit error rate [4] [6].…”

“…Joint detection and channel estimation are critical to the overall system performance in ISI channels [13]. However, much of the existing studies of AF cooperative communication [14]- [19] usually supposed that the CSI is known or can be acquired by a training sequence.…”
