Performance of cluster bean cultivars under the application of variousagrochemicals in Sub - Humid area of Rajasthan

Abstract: A field experiment was conducted during the kharif season 2008 and 2009 to find out response of clusterbean to various growth regulators. The experiment was laid out under spit plot design where four varieties (RGC-936, RGC-1002, RGC-1003 AND RGC- 1017 are taken as main plot treatment and seven growth substance (control, seed treatment with thiourea 500 ppm, foliar application of thiourea 500 ppm, seed+foliar application of thiourea 500 ppm, seed treatment with TGA 100ppm, foliar application of TGA 100 ppm and… Show more

“…As like growth parameters yield attributes were also varied significantly between different varieties of clusterbean could be attributed due to variation in genetic makeup and differential environmental behaviour. The findings of Meena et al (2016), Muthuselvi et al (2018), Muniswamy et al (2022) and Teja et al (2022) support the results of the present study. Clusterbean variety RGC 1033 produced significantly higher grain yield of 2279 kg/ha over all other varieties except HG 2-20 and HG 365.…”

“…Therefore, a general conclusion can be that there is considerable amount of genetic variability for various traits among different parental genotypes and crosses. Similarly, the genetic variability for various traits in Indian mustard has been reported by many workers [5][6][7][8][9][10][11]. Analysis of variance indicated highly significant differences among the treatments, between crosses, parents, lines and testers e in crosses and few traits in testers [ Table-1].…”

“…In India, the crop is mainly grown in the dry habitats of Rajasthan, Haryana, Gujarat and Punjab and to a limited extent in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. In India, the total area under Cluster bean was 42.55 lakh ha with a production of 24.15lakh tons green pod and a productivity of 567.0 kg haduring 2015-16 (Meena et al, 2016). In Punjab, cluster bean was cultivated on area 48600 ha with production of 33400 tons and average productivity was 688.0 kg ha -1 during 2015-16 (Anonymous, 2016).…”
