Performance limitations for networked control systems with plant uncertainty

Abstract: There has recently been significant interest in performance study for networked control systems with communication constraints. But the existing work mainly assumes that the plant has an exact model. The goal of this paper is to investigate the optimal tracking performance for networked control system in the presence of plant uncertainty. The plant under consideration is assumed to be non-minimum phase and unstable, while the two-parameter controller is employed and the integral square criterion is adopted to … Show more

“…In addition, it is worth mentioning that there exist certain complexities for multiple sensors in most practical circumstances, which would cause undesirable sensor behaviors. Typical phenomena in reality can be found as the parameter uncertainties and the missing data caused by sensor interruptions or failures (Yu et al , 2016; Chi et al , 2016; Zhang et al , 2015; Zhao et al , 2019; Chang et al , 2019; Chang and Wang, 2018). Furthermore, the aforementioned phenomena may exhibit stochastic dynamical behaviors in probabilistic way (Banu and Balasubramaniam, 2016; Zhang et al , 2014; Zhuang et al , 2015; Chang et al ,2016; Huo et al , 2019).…”

“…The optimal tracking problem for single-input–single-output (SISO) networked systems over a communication channel with packet dropout has been studied in Zhan et al (2013). The optimal tracking performance for a networked control system in the presence of plant uncertainty has been investigated in Chi et al (2016). Whereas, the optimal tracking performance for continuous-time systems with the consideration of channel input power constraint has been studied in Wu et al (2016).…”

“…Generally speaking, the main objectives of conducting research in the field of networked systems are to build proper networked systems models and design a networked controller to guarantee the stability and the quality of performance of the networked systems, such as the robustness, the tracking performance, and the regulation performance (Chi et al, 2016; Duarte Antunes et al, 2015; Gao and Li, 2011; Guan et al, 2012; Hu and Yue, 2012; Li and Gao, 2011; Zhan et al, 2013; Zhang et al, 2012). The other main purpose is to find a proper network scheduling policy to guarantee the quality of service of the networked systems (Dai et al, 2010; Kim et al, 2009; Park et al, 2002).…”
