Performance evaluation of wireless local area network with congested fading channels

Abstract: The IEEE 802.11ay wireless communication standard consents gadgets to link in the spectrum of millimeter wave (mm-Wave) 60 Giga Hertz band through 100 Gbps bandwidth. The development of promising high bandwidth in communication networks is a must as QoS, throughput and error rates of bandwidth-intensive applications like merged reality (MR), artificial intelligence (AI) related apps or wireless communication boggling exceed the extent of the chronic 802.11 standard established in 2012. Thus, the IEEE 802.11ay … Show more

“…Data is collected through the observation of data traffic conditions, which can be recorded by network devices, presenting information on data volume, data speed, and data downtime [15]. The data source utilized in this study involves the observation technique of network traffic [6]. This observation is carried out by capturing data traffic on computer network devices implemented at Politeknik Pelayaran Surabaya, and this data serves as primary data.…”

“…LANs are commonly used to connect personal computers and workstations within office buildings or factories to share resources (such as printers and scanners) and exchange information. LANs can be distinguished from other types of networks based on three characteristics: size, transmission technology, and topology [6].…”

“…While specific to the sea communication, Kamal et al [11] proposed a process to characterize a wide-band channel over the sea wave propagation to measure the mobile channel at 1.9 GHz with little attention has been paid to the water composition types which influence the signal behavior. However, to improve the model and make it more reliable, the multipath effects need to be incorporated into the channel model [12], particularly the diversity techniques to achieve high performance [13]. Also, the propagation has been analyzed in [14] at 5 GHz to measure line-of-sight (LoS) near the sea surface, but the channel model could be improved by taking into account the surface configuration added to the error rate along with signal strength at the receiver [15].…”

“…This increase in demand for more better short range wireless communication combined with the surge in use of smartphones, tablets, and IoT [3] [4] [5] collectively with the 5G network requires improved networking infrastructure in order to meet the growing future communication needs [2] [6]. The latest Wi-Fi standard of IEEE 802.11ay offers 300 Gbps transfer rate at 60 GHz band [7]. In this current decade the avalanche of data traffic will make it progressively challenging for Radio Frequency (RF) to cater the communicational needs as per Harald…”
