“…The whole carburization and oxidation process of TiN coating is presented in Figure . During the hydrocarbon fuel cracking, the carbon atoms infiltrate into the interior of the coating; meanwhile, the metals diffuse from the matrix to the inside of the coating. , The coating is still able to maintain the star shape of the microstructures, but parts of N atoms are replaced by C atoms to form the solid solution of TiC x N y , as shown in eq .…”

“…Endothermic hydrocarbon fuels are adopted for the advanced aircraft because they provide power through combustion and achieve thermal management with the regenerative cooling method. To achieve enough cooling ability, the fuel will be heated to high temperatures to get the chemical heat sink through the pyrolysis reaction. At the same time, solid pyrolytic carbon deposition will form on the inner surface of the micro-cooling channels, which may lead to the obstruction in channel and even affect the flight of the aircraft. Meanwhile, the carbon infiltrating the inside of the material causes severe coke formation and reduces the surface mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of the material. Therefore, it is of great significance to explore the carburization.…”

“…It is related to the thermal cycle of engine and flight conditions of vehicle. However, the high-speed internal flow proposes problems in unstart of inlet [8]- [10], combustion stabilization [11], and thermal protection [12], [13]. Because of these problems, propulsive performance of HCV is difficult to realize and improve [14].…”

“…8 The regenerative cooling/film cooling method for hydrocarbon-fueled scramjet engine was proposed in our previous study. 9 The method uses the high-temperature gaseous hydrocarbon fuel which has finished its job to regeneratively cool the engine wall as supersonic film coolant, particularly, non-equilibrium chemical reaction will occur in the mixing process between the high-temperature hydrocarbon-fueled film coolant and the high-enthalpy mainstream in the combustor.…”
