The agricultural machinery is making a considerable negative contribution to the acceleration of global warming. In this study, we analyzed the impact of combine harvesters (CHs) on the global warming potential (GWP) by evaluating the telematics data from 67 CHs operating in Lithuania and Latvia between 2016 and 2020. This study examined the use of their technological operations and the associated impacts on ambient air and performed field tests using the same CH model to determine the composition of exhaust gases and the impact of different technological operations on GWP. The data confirmed the release of significant GWP during indirect operation, and it was estimated that considerable lengths of time were spent in idle (~20%) and transport (~13%) modes. During these operations, over 13% of the total GWP (~27.4 t year–1 per CH), affected by emissions, was released. It was calculated that a GWP reduction exceeding 1 t year–1 per machine can be achieved by optimizing the idling and transport operations. The dual telematics/field test data approach facilitates a comprehensive assessment of both the impact of CH exhaust gases on GWP and the methods for reducing the negative impact on the environment.

The extraction of Biodiesel from vegetable oil is time-consuming and requires human involvement to perform and keep track of chemical titration, stirring, and washing the product for each batch of production. A well-designed system can significantly eliminate human interaction and expedite the whole process. The construction of an inexpensive automated biodiesel plant can help produce Biodiesel on a large scale and make a breakthrough in Bangladesh’s economy as no such effort has been undertaken so far. To achieve the desired aim, this paper focuses on implementing the construction of a cheap, compact, and automatic system that will exhaustively reduce human interactions and the processing time and increase biodiesel yield. For this purpose, an automated biodiesel processor was designed and constructed in conjunction with pumps, solenoid valves, level sensors, temperature sensors, etc., using a programmable logic controller (PLC). Upon completing a full cycle, the plant delivers certified Biodiesel and the leftover by-products are collected for further recycling. Different batches of Biodiesel were produced. A comparative study of the physical properties of the fuel and the diesel engine’s performance characteristics by these fuel samples was analysed and showed satisfactory results.

In this study, experimental trials will be carried out to find out the optimal recipe for processing corn oil and biodiesel oil produced by UMKM in Jember Regency (Indonesia) into biodiesel known as biosolar. Experimental conditions will be optimized to obtain partial transesterification of coconut oil and corn oil using a variety of common methoxide for the production of biosolar. Biosolar production using conventional methods has not yet produced fuel that meets modern engine standards, further research is needed to overcome this problem, including by making an advanced processing method. The following experimental parameters will be varied : liquid temperature (40-60ºC), processing time (1800 to 3600 sec.), catalyst (0.5-1,25 % of total weight.), and proportional of methanol oil mix ratio (m/o) (1:3-1:6). The maximum value parameter of biodiesel reaching 98.12% was produced by methoxide from KOH at 60 minutes of process, in 60 oC temperature and an oil – methanol mix ratio of 1:0.25. The optimal conditions for biosolar production also with biosolar fuel properties varied catalysts were tested with the standard methods of 14214EN and ASTMD6751. The results showed that optimum catalysts for biosolar production using coconut oil and corn oil are 0.8 % of total weight of either KOH and NaOH catalyst.
