Performance Evaluation of a MW-Size Grid-Connected Solar Photovoltaic Plant Considering the Impact of Tilt Angle

Abstract: This paper presents a study for the estimation of generation from a large-scale, grid-interfaced solar PV plant using the PVsyst software. This study aims to investigate the effect of tilt angle on the performance of the grid-integrated solar PV plant. Two types of tilt angle test plants, i.e., a fixed tilt angle of 30° (1 MW) and two seasonal tilt angles, in summer 13° and in winter 30° (2.5 MW), have been selected at the same location in Bikaner, India. The performance of the proposed test solar power plants… Show more

“…The performance of the plant after the first 2 years of operation has confirmed that it has met the expectations and exceeded the investor's target for the first 2 years. This selected to be utilized as the first effort to guide estimating the achievable energy capacity, generation (GWh/year), suitable area for deployment of a generation technology, performance ratio (PR) [18,33,34,49,59,60], topographic limitations, and environmental constraints. A detailed examination of the electrical analysis, including DC to DC converters, AC inverters to the transmission network, and PV modules connectivity configuration, are in scope.…”

“…This power and efficiency range is currently popular globally. The selected modules have a rated capacity of 330 Wp, which is the power measured at standard conditions STC: radiation 1000 W/m 2 , module temperature 25 • C, AM ratio 1.5 [7,23,60]. However, in operating conditions, with radiation of about 1000 W/m 2 , the working temperature of the panels is usually much higher (the operating temperature of the module is usually 20-30 • C higher than the air temperature).…”
