Performance enhancements of the CMCC"s national mesh network using the intelligent optical cross-connect switches

Abstract: In the last five years, the traffic growth rate in China has been extremely fast. By 2005, the number of wired telephone customers is estimated to reach 220 to 260 million, while the number of expected cellular customers will reach 260 to 290 million. To meet these challenges, we will continue evolving with more wavelengths and higher speed. By evolving point-to-point WDM systems to OTN/ASON systems, we can eliminate the throughput bottleneck of network nodes caused by electronics, provide optical-layer bandwi… Show more

“…In [46], we have an approach seeking to optimize the allocation of regenerators in the network. Routing algorithms for wavelength allocation and network efficiency were observed in [58], [60], [49], [46], [47], [43], [6], [22], [21], [18].…”

“…The physical planning considers adjustments in topologies and architectures of physical, the designing network elements are fixed, the authors [70], [23], [18] adopted this planning strategy. Specifications of components are generally commercial, not allowing flexibility in the adaptations and adjustments of the networks under study.…”
