Performance Analysis of Underwater Acoustic Communication using IDMA-OFDM-MIMO with Reed Solomon and Turbo Code

Abstract: The underwater acoustic environment is a promising technology which explores the real-time data collection for various applications. However, these channels are prone to errors, and characterized by propagation delay, half duplex communication. At low frequencies, the fading phenomenon extensively affect the behavior of the channel and hence the effect the design of reliable communication system. The underwater acoustic channels to perform appreciably reliable communication, an attempt are made by various modu… Show more

“…In 2014, Diamant R et al proposed to combine rate-compatible RS codes and the incremental redundancy hybrid automatic repeat request (IR-HARQ) protocol in Haifa port to achieve UWACS performance in terms of throughput and transmission power consumption that is superior to fixed-rate coding schemes [45]. In 2018, Khanai R et al compared the performance of IDMA-OFDM-MIMO with RS and turbo coding and found that RS codes have higher BERs than turbo codes but consume less power [46]. In 2021, Sklivanitis G et al found that a suitable combination of channel characteristics and RS codes can securely generate 256-bit encryption keys.…”

“…In [8] the author has demonstrated for Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) and Rayleigh fading channels in wireless sensor network the best coding rate choice a between wireless nodes. The detailed study in [9], investigates the ARQ method achieved when the code rate of the error-correcting coding technique is improved. In underwater wireless acoustic networks, due to the nodes potential energy savings the optimization of channel coding strategies has also been investigated.…”

“…Two types of Securities are required for data aggregation in wireless sensor network namely Confidentiality and data integrity. The confidentiality process helps to protect the sensitive [45] data transmission and passive attacks whereas the integrity helps to reduce the compromised sensor nodes in the network. There are two types of methods such as hop by hop encryption and end to end encryption for securing the data in wireless sensor network.…”
