Performance Analysis of the Multiband Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing Ultra-Wideband Systems for Multipath Fading and Multiuser Interference Channels

Abstract: This paper presents the performance analysis of the multiband orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MB-OFDM) ultra-wideband (UWB) systems for multipath fading and multiuser interference channels. A closed form approximation of the BER performance of the MB-OFDM UWB system with multiple interferences is proposed. Based on the derived approximation, the effects on the BER performance for the choice of the codeword constraint lengths of the convolutional encoder, the length of the cyclic prefix, and the mul… Show more

“…With these promising advantages of low-power, low cost, compact size, the UWB systems are appropriate for wireless personal area networks (WPAN) and other applications such as location, positioning, and imaging systems [1][2][3][4]. In UWB technology more attention has been focused to the MIMO systems due to their attractive feature of reduced multipath fading [5].…”
