Performance analysis of multi‐user NOMA over shadowed fading

Abstract: In this Letter, performance of multiple users in downlink of non‐orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) network considering the general α−κ−μ shadowed fading model which was proposed in recent years is studied. In particular, main metrics including the outage probability, ergodic rate related to ordered channels are derived in novel and exact expressions for arbitrary values of the fading parameters. Moreover, numerical simulations are carried out in order to exhibit further insights on how the system performance i… Show more

“…The signal‐to‐interference‐plus‐noise ratio (SINR) for the f th UE can be given as γf=af2|gf|2an2|gf|2+1ρ, where ρ is the transmit SNR. Note that n th UE can decode its own signal after decoding the signal intended for f th UE using SIC 25 . The SINR requirement at n th UE to decode f th UE's signal is given by γnf=af2|gn|2an2|gn|2+1ρ. …”

“…In References 24‐28, the generalized channel models are considered to study the downlink NOMA system. In Reference 24, the η‐μ and κ‐μ fading channels are considered to investigate the performance of downlink NOMA in which the mathematical expressions for outage probabilities and sum‐rate are derived for generalized users.…”
