Performance Analysis of Digital Image Steganographic Algorithm

Abstract: Steganography is the technique with which the confidential data is hidden under the cover medium such as image, without reflecting any clue on the cover image. Many algorithms are designed to provide the security for the communication of data over the Internet. The good steganographic algorithm is identified by the performance of the algorithm measured with the help of the parameters such as PSNR, MSE, robustness and capacity to hide the information in the cover image. This paper analyzed the Digital Image Ste… Show more

“…This mechanism is referred as Random or scattered LSB [17] and it offers more payload capacity [29]. Neil F. Johnson [20] proposed a method that sharp areas can hide large amount of data if it is applied at edge image and it cannot hide more data when it works at smooth images. Odai et al [1] proposed an algorithm based on different size image segmentations (DSIS) and modified least significant bits (MLSB), where the DSIS algorithm has been applied to embed a secret image randomly instead of sequentially.…”

“… Structural Content (SC): This analyzes the similar regions in both the cover and stego images. [4] Researchers N.D. Jambhekar et.al. here have utilized the steganographic technique, the mystery message is embedded such that the message can be extricated without influencing the cover picture, to loose its permeability.…”

“…This technique was further implemented as a screen-camera communication device by considering each pixel in the display and camera as a transmitting and receiving antenna [21]. To achieve hidden communication between the display and camera, various time and transform domain image steganographic methods were introduced [22][23][24][25]. From the captured images, specifically ROI, having few straight lines, were detected by Hough transform (HT) [26].…”
