Performance analysis for two-way lossy-forward relaying with random Rician K-factor

Abstract: A novel lossy-forward (LF) cooperative communication scheme based on the decode-and-forward (DF) protocol allowing source-relay link errors is proposed recently. The LF relaying scheme always allows the relay to forward the decoded information to the destination even though it may contain errors. The knowledge of the correlation between received information sequences is exploited in the decoding process at the destination to improve the system performance. In this paper, we derive exact expressions of the outa… Show more

“…With the recognition of its usefulness, the two-way relay network has been intensively investigated with the aim of its applications to wireless communications [74], [113]- [115]. For example, two sources intend to ensure their information exchange via a common intermediate relay node in addition to the direct links between them, as illustrated in Fig.…”

“…Applying LF relaying to two-way relay network with direct link was initially studied in [74] under the assumption that the relay works in half-duplex mode while the sources work in full-duplex mode. The first time-slot transmission is a two-user MAC, while the second time-slot transmission is the broadcast of XoRed copy from the relay.…”
