“…Perfluorocyclobutyl (PFCB) aryl ether polymer is a novel fluorinated polymer, first developed in 1993 by Babb 27 of Dow company. The process of polymer formation is a unique reaction, by which the trifluoroethylene becomes hexafluorocylbutyl in the covalent linkage by cyclization 28 . Such cyclization reaction is very suitable to the vulcanization reaction for no by‐products and no catalysts (Figure 1).…”

“…In this review, we aim to concisely highlight both PFCBs and ODA-based materials as two useful classes of aromatic and fluoroalicyclic polymers. Although these polymers have been widely discussed in the literature, the majority of the past and current reviews have focused broadly on the synthesis, properties, and industrial uses on each individual polymer [ 12 , 16 , 50 , 59 ]. Herein, we not only present in one review the synthetic routes toward production of new PFCB polymers (i.e., those containing large polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) and high carbon yielding ODA-based materials, but also emphasis on their preparation via ring formation, which leads to a remarkably unique combination of processability and performance properties.…”

“…The rapid development of telecommunication techniques has witnessed the start of fifth-generation (5G) era in recent years [ 1 ]. One of the most extraordinary features of 5G communication is the high-frequency transmission of signals in hardware [ 2 ]. This characteristic makes it very important to achieve low-loss and low-delay signals transmission [ 3 ].…”
