Percutaneous vertebroplasty vs balloon kyphoplasty in the treatment of newly onset osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures

Abstract: To compare percutaneous vertebroplasty (VP) and balloon kyphoplasty (BKP) for their effectiveness and safety in the treatment of newly onset osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (VCF).Patients with confirmed diagnosis of newly onset osteoporotic VCF and treated in our center between January 2008 and December 2016 were retrospectively included in the study.
