Percutaneous drainage of liver abscess under ultrasound guidance combined with etiological antibacterial therapy: a successful case of patient treatment
Abstract:The article describes a clinical case of successful treatment of multiple liver abscesses in a 43‑year-old man with severe comorbidity and history of aggravating factors. The patient underwent combined treatment: surgery, consisting in the abscess puncture, and antibacterial therapy, first empirical, then etiological, taking into account the data of bacteria culture test. The importance of rational combinations of surgical care and antibacterial therapy is also discussed.
