Percutaneous and surgical revascularization procedures in women

Abstract: There has been an important increase in the availability of sex-specifi c data on the use and outcomes of revascularization procedures in women over the past year. Our understanding of the impact of female sex on the use and outcomes of revascularization procedures is limited by bias against inclusion of women in randomized trials and by the fact that coronary angiography, a necessary step in the evaluation of any patient for revascularization, is performed less frequently in women.
