Perceptions and illusions of students regarding presumably undetected cheating during the COVID-19 pandemic in Greece

Abstract: The present study constitutes a preliminary research on the attitudes and perceptions of students in Greece concerning cheating in exams and plagiarism in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic. A survey conducted among 578 students shows a sharp increase in the employment of underhanded means by students towards attaining better grades in the exams. These findings need to be evaluated by the academic community to put a check on the rising number of instances of academic fraud.
