Growth and development occur in human teeth, which have experienced growth and development since pregnancy. Teeth are formed from two types of cells: oral epithelial cells, which form the enamel organ, and dental papilla, which produce dentine and pulp. Pregnant women who lack nutrition will impact the growth and development of the fetus, including the teeth. Nutrition is an essential component of dental and oral health. The nutrients needed for dental and oral health are calcium, fluorine, phosphorus, and vitamin D. This study aims to determine the effect of sea fish powder on the development and growth of the fetal toothing parent mice. This research used a true experimental design with a post-test-only control design. Pregnant mice were divided into two groups: the control group, which was given distilled water, and the treatment group, which was given seafish powder. The mouse fetuses were taken at 18 days of gestation, and dentition was observed between the control and treatment groups. Histological preparations of the fetal teeth were observed using hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining. Fetuses of mice in the treatment group showed tooth development conditions in the early bell stage, while fetuses in the control group showed the initiation stage. There were differences in the growth and development phase of the fetus in mice in the control group and the treatment group given sea fish powder. Providing sea fish powder can accelerate the process of odontogenesis in mouse fetuses.

Background: Dental caries is rarely found in children who eat saltwater fish. A Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT), commonly known as a μ-CT Scanner, is a device used to quantify the increase in tooth enamel density Purpose: This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of saltwater fish nanoparticle powder consumption on tooth enamel density of Mus musculus. Method This study used an experimental research method with a randomized posttest only control group design. The research subjects were 16 mice taken from 2 pregnant female mice which were divided into two groups, namely the treatment group with 2.17 mg / 0.5 mL of saltwater fish nanoparticle powder and the control group which was given distilled water. Administration was carried out during the intrauterine period until the teeth of the mice grew, then observed the tooth enamel density with CBCT OP 3D Pro (KaVo, Germany). The data obtained were analyzed by Levene and continued with the Independent T-test. Result: The average value of enamel density in mandibular incisors in the treatment group was greater than the control group (p <0.05). Struktur enamel terdiri dari 96 % bahan anorganik, 4% bahan organik, air dan jaringan fibrosa. Ikan laut memiliki banyak kandungan seperti Kalsium, Taurine, Omega 3, PUFAs, Vitamin A, Vitamin D, dan Fluorida yang memiliki fungsi dapat meningkatkan kekerasan enamel gigi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsumsi serbuk nanopartikel ikan laut terhadap kekerasan enamel gigi anak mencit (mus musculus).Metode penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian True Experimental dengan rancangan penelitian menggunakan Post Test Only Control Design, terdiri dari 2 kelompok yaitu kelompok kontrol diberi pakan normal dan kelompok perlakuan diberi serbuk nanopartikel ikan laut dengan dosis 2,17 mg / 0,5 ml. Sampel yang digunakan adalah 16 ekor anak mencit kemudian masing-masing anak mencit diambil gigi insisivus. Selanjutnya gigi anak mencit dilakukan uji kekerasan Micro Vickers Hardness Tester, kemudian dianalisa dengan uji statistic. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara kelompok perlakuan dan kelompok kontrol dengan signifikasi Independent T-test 0,000 (p0,05) pada rahang atas. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh adalah pemberian serbuk nanopartikel ikan laut dapat meningkatkan kekerasan enamel gigi secara signifikan dalam proses tumbuh kembang gigi janin mencit.
