Creative thinking skills and problem-solving skills were among the competencies that must be possessed by students in the 21st-century, which need to be developed through the learning process, and are still teacher challenge to date. This study aims to improve creative thinking skills, problem-solving skills, and learning outcomes of seventh-grade students by problem-based learning (PBL). This class action research was conducted at State Junior High School 18 of Malang. The subjects was students’ class VIIE. The study was conducted two cycles (repeated seven times). Each cycle referring to Spiral Model by Kemmis, McTaggart, and Nixon. The problem-solving skills data were obtained from student worksheet assessment, the creative thinking skills data were obtained from performance grading rubric and learning outcomes data were obtained from end-of-cycle essay test. The results shows that PBL improves (1) the average of problem solving skills of 27% with the completion rate of 47%,(2) the average of creative thinking skills of 11% with the completion rate of 17.5%, and (3) the average learning outcomes of 13% with the completion rate of 15%. It can concluded that teachers can implement PBL to improve students’ creative thinking skills, problem-solving skills, and learning outcomes.

Fokus penelitian ini adalah untuk mengungkapkan pengaruh model problem-based learning berbantuan Cabri 3D V2 terhadap kemampuan literasi numerasi siswa. Penelitian ini mengambil populasi siswa kelas 8 Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 5 Tambun Selatan dan sampelnya ditentukan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling dengan terpilihnya kelas 8.8 (H) sebagai kelas kontrol dan kelas 8.9 (I) sebagai kelas eksperimen dan dilaksanakan pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2020/2021. Metode penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan mengambil bentuk posttest only control group design. Pemilihan kelas tersebut tetap memperhatikan normal dan homogen kedua kelas yang terpilih. Teknik analisis data menggunakan metode tes dan observasi. Hasil penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa koefisien uji pengaruh untuk model problem-based learning berbantuan software cabri 3D V2 dapat meningkatkan kemampuan literasi numerasi sebesar 1,237538. Bagi peneliti selanjutnya, agar meneliti penggunaan model pembelajaraan yang lain berbantuan software matematika lainnya, agar dapat mengetahui adakah pengaruh untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi numerasi siswa pada jenjang SMP/sederajat.

The aim of this research is to describe and explore the statistical literacy of middle school students in solving the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) problems. This research utilized the qualitative approach, with the research type being descriptive-explorative. The research subjects consisted of 6 Grade 8 students from Muhammadiyah Middle School 6 of Malang in Malang Regency, Indonesia. Two students had a high mathematical ability, two others had a moderate ability, and the last two had low ability. The data analysis technique applied in this research was the interactive technique, composed of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The data collection for this research involved testing and interviews. The utilized test consisted of an adaptation of TIMSS for the materials of data and opportunities. Interview guidelines were used to support the data collected from the test. The research results indicated that low-ability, moderate-ability, and high-ability students were similar in that they were able to understand the problems. The difference among students of across different categories lies in data processing and data communication. Students with high mathematical abilities could process data and communicate them in detail, while those with moderate abilities could process data and communicate them but not in detail, and students with low abilities could only explain the mathematical problems.
