Background: Complementary therapy is part of a nursing intervention that is simple and has no side effects but provides great benefits for cancer patients who experience side effects from chemotherapy treatment that cancer patients undergo. Purpose: To determine and analyze complementary therapies that can be applied to cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Method: Literature review search from various online databases from 2018-2023, namely Google Scholar, Pubmed, and ScienceDirect, with the search keywords "Nursing interventions AND Complementary Therapy AND Cancer Patients AND Chemotherapy". This literature analysis uses guidelines from PRISMA and the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI). Result: From the study and review of 10 selected journals, that nursing intervention with a complementary therapy approach had a significant impact in overcoming the side effects caused by chemotherapy in cancer patients. Conclusion: Nursing intervention with a complementary therapy approach provide a significant impact in overcoming the side effects caused by chemotherapy in cancer patients. Suggestion: Various surgical interventions are useful in overcoming side effects in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment, one of which is evidence-based nursing practice (EBNP) and is applied in clinical practice. In addition, this independent nursing intervention can be carried out directly by the nurse to the patient. Keywords: Cancer; Chemotherapy; Complementary Therapy. Pendahuluan: Terapi komplementer merupakan bagian dari intervensi keperawatan yang sederhana dan tidak memiliki efek samping namun memberikan manfaat yang besar bagi pasien kanker yang mengalami efek samping dari pengobatan kemoterapi yang dijalani oleh pasien kanker. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis terapi komplementer yang dapat diterapkan untuk pasien kanker yang menjalani kemoterapi. Metode: Penelitian literature review dari berbagai database online dari tahun 2018-2023 yaitu Google Scholar, Pubmed, dan ScienceDirect, dengan kata kunci pencarian “nursing interventions AND complementary therapy AND cancer patients AND chemotherapy”. Analisis literatur ini menggunakan panduan dari PRISMA dan Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI). Hasil: Berdasarkan telaah dan review 10 jurnal pilihan, didapatkan bahwa intervensi keperawatan dengan pendekatan terapi komplementer memberikan dampak yang signifikan dalam mengatasi efek samping yang ditimbulkan oleh kemoterapi pada pasien kanker. Simpulan: Intervensi keperawatan dengan pendekatan terapi komplementer memberikan dampak yang signifikan dalam mengatasi efek samping yang ditimbulkan oleh kemoterapi pada pasien kanker. Saran: Berbagai intervensi keperawatan yang bermanfaat dalam mengatasi efek samping pada pasien kanker yang menjalani pengobatan kemoterapi salah satunya, evidence based nursing practice (EBNP) dan diterapkan pada praktik klinik. Selain itu, intervensi keperawatan mandiri ini dapat langsung dilakukan oleh perawat kepada pasien. Kata Kunci: Kanker; Kemoterapi; Terapi Komplementer.

An external electric field is still debatable for cancer treatment, although many study results proved its capacity. Cancer involves complex mechanisms, including how the cancer cells arise and grow. Thus, this disease is known to have many hallmarks. This condition complicates precise and accurate treatment. The study proved that an external electric field has prospects to become an effective cancer treatment, demonstrated by its ability to inhibit cancer growth through anti-proliferative and pro-apoptotic capacities. Several devices generating electric fields for cancer treatment were Tumour Treating Fields (TTFields), nanosecond Pulsed Electric Fields (nsPEF), picosecond Pulsed Electric Fields (psPEF), and Electro-Capacitive Cancer Therapy (ECCT). This article will compare those devices’ efficacy, safety, treatment methods, and research progress, including the advantages and disadvantages of static electric field devices and future research prospects. More attention will be focused on ECCT, which has been closely and profoundly investigated in breast cancer treatment.
